Quality has gone down.

"The capes no longer have metal buttons, they are the cheap plastic buttons, and I spent more for cheaper quality. I have 5 of these capes from a few years ago that held up very well and have metal clasps. I will update my review in a few months when I inevitably have to replace these and will be on thr hunt for quality next time since I cannot guarantee that from Betty Dain anymore."
